02-03 Saturn VUE AWD Z4 Z6 Vibration from 30 MPH or Faster Felt in the Drivers Seat or Floorboard Area - kw propshaft shaft driveshaft shake shimmy

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in the PI.

Vibration concern from 30 MPH or faster normally felt in the driver’s seat or floorboard area in vehicles up to VIN break 3S880372.

Cause: propeller shaft center carrier bearing assembly may be corroded to the point that the inner rubber insulator may delaminate from the outer metal housing. This can cause the propeller shaft to have excessive movement and induce a vibration in the vehicle. Replace the propeller shaft center carrier bearing assembly P/N 10383958.

The propeller shaft carrier bearing assembly for service and production was updated during the '03 model year to include corrosion prevention to address this corrosion concern.
