Battery Tray Replacement 2.2L (L61)

1. Remove the battery box. Refer to Battery Box Replacement .
2. Disconnect the battery cable retainers (1) from the battery tray.



3. Remove the battery air outlet duct fastener.
4. Remove the battery air outlet duct from the battery tray.



5. Remove the battery tray bolts.
6. Remove the battery tray from the inner fender.

1. Install the battery tray to the inner fender.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

2. Install the battery tray bolts.

Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).





Important: Ensure that the outlet duct is properly aligned with the battery tray and that it is securely fastened to the rail.

3. Install the battery air outlet duct to the battery tray.
4. Install the battery air outlet duct fastener.



5. Connect the battery cable retainers (1) to the battery tray.
6. Install the battery box. Refer to Battery Box Replacement .

Battery Tray Replacement 3.5L (L66)

1. Remove the battery . Refer to Battery Replacement .
2. Remove the 3 (UHJB) nuts and lift the UHJB from the battery tray.
3. Remove the left headlight. Refer to Headlamp Assembly or Headlamp Bulb and/or Cornering, Sidemarker, Park, Turn Signal Bulb Replacement .



4. Remove the battery tray bolt behind the headlight.



5. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
6. Remove the lower battery tray bolt (3).
7. Lower the vehicle.
8. Remove the battery tray bolt on top of the side rail (1).
9. Remove the battery tray.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.




1. Position the battery tray bracket and install the bolt to the top of the side rail (1).

Tighten
Tighten the battery tray bracket bolts to 15 N·m (11 lb ft).

2. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
3. Install the lower battery tray bolt (3).

Tighten
Tighten the battery tray bolt to 15 N·m (11 lb ft).

4. Lower the vehicle.



5. Install the battery tray bolt behind the headlight.

Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 15 N·m (11 lb ft).

6. Install the left headlight. Refer to Headlamp Assembly or Headlamp Bulb and/or Cornering, Sidemarker, Park, Turn Signal Bulb Replacement .
7. Install the UHJB and nuts .

Tighten
Tighten the nuts to 12 N·m (106 lb in).

8. Install the battery . Refer to Battery Replacement .
