    • J 44810 Transaxle Range Switch Alignment Tool

Adjustment Procedure

  1. Shift the transaxle into (N) Neutral position.

  2. Object Number: 945270  Size: SH
  3. Using the J 36346 , remove the control cable assembly from the transaxle range switch lever.

  4. Object Number: 945283  Size: SH
  5. Remove the transaxle range switch lever nut and lever.
  6. Loosen the transaxle range switch bolts.

  7. Object Number: 945352  Size: SH
  8. Insert the J 44810 as shown and rotate the switch until the tool drops into position. The switch is aligned when the pin on the tool drops into the hole on the transaxle range switch.
  9. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  10. Tighten the transaxle range switch bolts.
  11. Tighten
    Tighten the transaxle range switch bolts to 11 N·m (8 lb ft).

  12. Remove the alignment tool.

  13. Object Number: 945283  Size: SH
  14. Install the transaxle range switch lever and nut.
  15. Tighten
    Tighten the transaxle range switch lever nut to 16 N·m (12 lb ft).

  16. Install the control cable assembly to transaxle range switch lever.
  17. After adjusting the switch, verify the engine only starts in (P) Park or (N) Neutral. Using the scan tool, monitor the TR Sw. to verify the selected position matches the scan tool. Move the selector through all positions. If the engine starts in any other position, readjust the switch.
