  1. Start the engine.
  2. Turn OFF all accessories.

Does the battery charge indicator remain illuminated?

  1. Install a scan tool.
  2. With a scan tool, observe the Battery 1 parameter in the body control module (BCM) data list.

Does the voltage measure within the normal operating range?

12.6-16 V

With a scan tool, observe the Ignition 1 parameter in the engine control module (ECM)/powertrain control module (PCM) data list.

Does the voltage measure within the normal operating range?

12.6-16 V

With a scan tool, command the lamp and gages On and Off.

Does the charge indicator turn ON and OFF with each command?

Replace the ECM/PCM. Refer to Control Module References for replacement, setup, and programming.
