    Important: 

       • 2006 model year and later engines use a second design timing belt drive sprocket and powertrain control module (PCM).
       • The second design drive sprocket is NOT interchangeable with the first design 2004-2005 applications.

  1. Inspect the drive belt sprocket and identify for proper usage.
  2. • The 2004-2005 applications use a first design sprocket with rectangular shaped teeth (1).
    • The 2006 and later applications use a second design sprocket with trapezoid shaped teeth (2).

    Important: The PCM must perform the idle learn procedure to determine the minimum throttle position and to establish idle speed when any of the following components are replaced:

       • Throttle body
       • Timing belt
       • Timing belt drive sprocket
       • Crankshaft and bearings
    Refer to Idle Learn .

  3. Install the key (123) and sprocket (237).

  4. Object Number: 897067  Size: SH
  5. Install the guide (236).
  6. Install the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor (704) and harness (701).
  7. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  8. Install the guide (703), nuts (702), and bolts (730).
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts and bolts to 9.8 N·m (87 lb in).

  10. Rotate the crankshaft to align the mark (2) on the sprocket (237) with the pointer (1) on the oil pump housing.
