Tools Required

    • EN 46334 Camshaft Oil Seal Driver
    • EN 46337 Camshaft Sprocket/Crankshaft Balancer Holder

    Object Number: 897137 Size: SH
  1. Lubricate the camshaft journals and bores with clean engine oil.

    2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  2. Install the camshaft (209), NEW O-ring (210), cap (211) and bolts (212).

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 22 N·m (16 lb ft).

  3. Use the EN 46334 in order to install the seal (223) into the cylinder head. Rotate the bolt clockwise until the tool bottoms in the cylinder head bore.

    4. Object Number: 897136 Size: SH
  4. Install the cover (246), NEW seal (245) and bolts (247).

    5. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 22 N·m (16 lb ft).

  5. Install the sprocket (248) and bolt (249).

    6. Object Number: 897135 Size: SH
  6. Use the EN 46337 to retain the camshaft sprocket.

    7. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 90 N·m (67 lb ft).

  7. Rotate the camshaft to align the mark on the sprocket (2) with the pointer on the rear cover (1).
