Chrome Door Handles Show Small Cracks In Chrome Surface - keywords appearance body front hot paint painted rear

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Some Chrome door handles may show small cracks in the chrome surface. This condition appears to be worse with extremely high temperatures. Due to this condition, chrome door handles have been removed from production.

Production Note: As chrome door handles have been removed from production, XR vehicles will be manufactured with painted handles. This is not a mis-build and should not be refitted with chrome handles at PDI.

If a vehicle experiences this condition, the retailer may replace all the door handles with body-colored door handles.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
