Preliminary Procedures

1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
2. Support the transmission with a transmission jack stand.
3. Disconnect the steering shaft coupler from the steering gear. Refer to Steering Gear Replacement.
4. Remove the steering gear to frame bolts. Refer to Steering Gear Replacement.
5. Position the steering gear up out of the way to gain clearance for removal of the rear transmission mount.

Tighten
110 N·m (81 lb ft)
