Liftgate Emblem/Nameplate Replacement HYBRID 2 MODE

Liftgate Nameplate (HYBRID 2 MODE)

Caution: Refer to Exterior Trim Emblem Removal Caution in the Preface section.

Procedure

  1. The part and surface should be 21°C (70°F) prior to installation. The vehicle should remain 21°C (70°F) for one hour after assembly to allow adhesive to develop sufficient bond strength.
  2. Use a J 25070 Heat Gun or equivalent to remove the old nameplate.
  3. Clean all adhesive from rear liftgate and wipe the surface dry with a clean lint-free towel prior to installing the new nameplate.
  4. When removing protective liners from the adhesive tape, be careful not to touch tape with hands and do not allow tape to come in contact with dirt or any foreign matter prior to adhesion.
  5. Close the liftgate.
  6. Peel the adhesive tape backing from the nameplate.
  7. Position and adhere the nameplate to the liftgate.
  8. With a dry cotton towel and the palm of the hand, wet out the nameplate and ensure full adhesion of the nameplate to the liftgate is made.

Emblem/Nameplate VUE XE
