Tools Required

J 42098 Crank Hub Torx Socket

1. Remove the transaxle. Refer Transmission Replacement in Automatic Transaxle AF33-5.



2. Use the J 42098 to counterhold the crankshaft to remove the flexplate bolts.



3. Remove the flexplate from the crankshaft.
4. Clean the rear crankshaft flange.

1. Install the flexplate to the crankshaft.

•	Use new flex plate bolts.

•	Coat the new flex plate bolts with Permatex® High Temp - Red Threadlocker (or equivalent).

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.




2. Use the J 42098 to counterhold the crankshaft and install the flexplate bolts.

Tighten
Tighten the flex plate bolt to 65 N·m (48 lb ft) + 30° + 15°.




3. Install the transaxle. Remove the transaxle. Refer Transmission Replacement in Automatic Transaxle AF33-5.
