Removal Procedure
Important: Complete accessory drive belt removal is not required for tensioner replacement.
- Use a 15-mm wrench to rotate the tensioner pulley clockwise while lifting the
drive belt off the idler pulley.
- Raise the vehicle.
- Remove the drive belt tensioner bolts.
- Remove the drive belt tensioner from the engine.
Installation Procedure
- Install the drive belt tensioner to the engine.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
- Install the drive belt tensioner bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the belt tensioner bolts to 40 N·m (30 lb ft).
- Lower the vehicle.
- Route the drive belt around all pulleys except
the idler or water pump pulley.
Important: Ensure that the drive belt is aligned into the proper grooves on the drive pulleys.
- Use a 15-mm wrench to rotate the tensioner pulley clockwise.
- Slip the drive belt over the idler or water pump pulley.
