J 45482 Debris Screen

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 959177  Size: SH
  1. Remove intake manifold assembly. Refer to Intake Manifold Replacement .
  2. Install the J 45482.
  3. Disconnect each EI module harness connector.

  4. Object Number: 894674  Size: SH

    Important: To avoid getting water and debris into the spark plug holes, use compressed air and shop rag to blow off the ignition module before the assembly is removed.

    Important: Bolts can be screwed into the ignition module to aid when removing the module from the cylinder head.

  5. Remove the ignition module attachment bolts.
  6. Remove ignition module housing assembly with spark plug boots from spark plugs.
  7. Remove ignition module assembly gasket if it does not come out with module.
  8. Remove spark plugs.

Installation Procedure

    Important: Spark plugs are pre-gapped. If spark plug is dropped it should be replaced.

  1. Install the spark plugs.
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the spark plugs to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  3. Install a new gasket to the ignition module.
  4. Apply dielectric compound to spark plug boots and make sure no corrosion is present.
  5. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  6. Install ignition module housing assembly with spark plug boots into position.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the ignition module bolts to 8 N·m (71 lb in).

  8. Connect EI module harness connector. Push in connector until locking position is felt and pull back to confirm a positive engagement.

  9. Object Number: 959177  Size: SH
  10. Remove the J 45482.
  11. Install intake manifold assembly. Refer to Intake Manifold Replacement .
