Makes 🢒 Saturn 🢒 2002 🢒 VUE - FWD 🢒 Engine 🢒 Engine Controls - 3.0L (L81) 🢒 Output Speed Sensor Replacement

Removal Procedure
  1. Record all preset radio stations.

    2. Caution: Do not tip the battery over a 45 degree angle or acid could spill causing serious personal injury.

  2. Remove the battery.
    3. 2.1. Remove the battery cover.
    2.2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
    2.3. Disconnect the positive battery cable.
    2.4. Loosen the battery hold-down screw and remove the battery.
  3. Remove the battery cooling box.
  4. Remove the battery tray bracket.
  5. Disconnect the wiring harness from the output shaft speed sensor.

    6. Object Number: 955465 Size: SH

    Important: Do not damage the output speed sensor or transaxle case.

  6. Remove the output speed sensor bolt (61).
  7. Remove the output shaft speed sensor (62) and the O-ring (63).

Installation Procedure
  1. Apply automatic transaxle fluid to the new output speed sensor O-ring (63).
  2. Install the new output speed sensor O-ring (63) onto the output speed sensor (62).
  3. Install the output speed sensor (62) into the transmission case assembly.

    4. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  4. Install the output speed sensor bolt (61).

    5. Tighten
    Tighten the output speed sensor bolt to 6 N·m(53 lb-in).

  5. Connect the wiring harness to the output shaft speed sensor.

    6. Object Number: 951487 Size: SH
  6. Install the battery tray bracket.

    7. Tighten
    Tighten the battery tray bracket screws to 16 N·m(12 lb-ft)

  7. Install the battery cooling box.
