Notice: Use extreme care when applying sealant. Ensure the bead of sealant does not exceed 2-3 mm (0.079-0.118 in). Excess sealant inside the transmission may cause restrictions resulting in various performance and noise complaints.

Important: Liquid PA Sealant GM P/N 24233365 is the only authorized sealant that should be applied to the mating surfaces.

Important: Ensure the bead of sealant is centered on the mating surface between the bolt holes, and on the inside mating surface around the bolt holes.

Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  8. Secure the torque converter and differential housing assembly to the transmission case assembly with 22 NEW bolts.
  9. Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 28 N·m (21 lb ft) in the sequence shown.
