Subject: | Armrest Angled Down on Front Driver or Passenger Seat When Seat Is In Upright Position (Replace Armrest With New Part) |
Models: | 2002-2003 VUE |
Built Up To and Including VIN Breakpoint 3S849653 |
Attention: | General Manager, Fixed Operations Manager, Parts Manager, Technician |
Some customers may comment that the armrest on the front seat (driver or passenger) is angled down too far when the seat is in the upright position.
Important: Reclining the seat back forward and rearward will change the angle of the armrest in reference to the floor.
When the seat back is in the design intent position, the original armrest is parallel to the floor. This design intent position of the seat back may be too far reclined for some customers, so they may tilt the seat back forward which will cause the armrest to tilt at a downward angle.
Replace the original armrest with new armrest from the Parts Information below. The stop in the armrest assembly has been moved to prevent it from rotating as far forward as the original armrest when in the lowered position.
