Defrost Mode Not Clearing Condensation in Lower Right and Left Corners of Windshield (Replace Defrost Deflector Grille)

Some customers may comment that when defrost mode is selected, the condensation will not clear from the lower right and lower left corners of the windshield, or they may comment that it takes an extended length of time to clear those areas of the windshield.

The current design defrost deflector grille may prevent airflow from reaching the lower corners of the windshield when HVAC is in defrost mode.

Replace the defroster deflector grilles with the new design defroster deflector grilles that direct air to the lower corners of the windshield.

1. Locate the tabs on the rear inside of the defroster grille.
2. Using a plastic body tool, carefully slide the tool between the I/P top cover and defroster grille at one of the outer tabs while lifting up the end of the defroster grille.
3. Continue to insert the plastic body tool behind the remainder of the tabs in the defroster grille until the grille can be completely removed from the I/P top cover.
4. Install the new defroster grille by placing it over the slot in the I/P top cover. Insert the front end into the slot first, then snap the rear of the grille into place.
5. Perform steps 1 through 4 for the defroster grille on the other side of the vehicle.
