Service Information Regarding Front Suspension Struts and Front Stabilizer Bar Links Service Parts Update

This bulletin is being revised to update the part number information. Please discard bulletin 02-T-36, Corporate Bulletin Number 02-03-08-005 (Section 03 --Suspension).

The purpose of this bulletin is to notify you anytime a left or right front suspension strut assembly or end link is replaced on a VUE before the VIN indicated above, it will be necessary to perform an inspection of the front strut stabilizer bar link bracket and if necessary replace the opposite side front strut assembly and both front stabilizer bar links with updated service parts. Refer to the Parts Requirements section in this bulletin for specific service parts information.

Before replacing both front strut assemblies and stabilizer bar links, a vehicle inspection and warranty history must be reviewed. Once the vehicle is fitted with the updated components, it is not necessary to replace both struts and stabilizer links during normal service.

Refer to "Inspection" in this bulletin, and if necessary, replace both front strut assemblies and stabilizer bar links.

Front struts that are effected by this bulletin have a distinct change with the stabilizer bar link bracket that is welded to the strut tube. The stabilizer bar link bracket on affected vehicles will be square (90 °) from the strut tube. The updated strut assembly will be at 20 °.
