Extra Mounting Holes on Replacement Front Interior Door Panel - keywords appearance body bracket fit molding mount part trim

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

There are two extra mounting holes on the replacement front interior door panel. Vehicles built prior to VIN 4S889727, used a first generation door panel. When a Front interior door panel is replaced, it may supersede to the second generation part. The second generation door panel has two extra holes in it that are used in conjunction with brackets on the door structure to add additional retention to the door panel. When used on a first generation vehicle, these holes have no place to attach.

The second generation door panel will work in place of the first generation door panel. The two extras holes on the second generation door panel will not be used when replacing a first generation door panel. It will be necessary to order plugs to cover the holes. The part numbers for the plugs are listed below.

Lt. Neutral 15225941 (This kit contains 2 plugs)

Med. Gray 15225942 (This kit contains 2 plugs)
