Removal Procedure
- Turn Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to
Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
in Engine Electrical.
- Pull retaining tang from the transmission control module and rotate the transmission control module up. Remove the transmission control module from transmission
control module bracket.
- Disconnect TCM C1 and C2 connectors.
Installation Procedure
- Connect the transmission control module C1 and C2 connectors.
- Install the transmission control module to the transmission control module bracket.
- Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to
Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
in Engine Electrical.
Important: DTC P0602 is set with all new service transmission control modules. When the transmission control module is reprogrammed with the correct software and calibrations, DTC P0602 will be erased.
- Reprogram the transmission control module with the correct calibration. Refer to
Service Programming System (SPS)
.
Important: It is recommended that transmission adaptive pressure (TAP) information be reset.
Resetting the TAP values using a scan tool will erase all learned values in all cells. As a result, The ECM, PCM
or TCM will need to relearn TAP values. Transmission performance may be affected as new TAP values are learned.
- Reset the TAP values. Refer to
Transmission Adaptive Functions
.
