The passenger compartment air filter traps most of the pollen from the air entering
you vehicle. Like your vehicle's engine air filter, it will need to be changed periodically.
A substantial reduction in air flow indicates that the filter needs to be replaced.
See Maintenance section in this handbook to find out how to replace the passenger
compartment air filter. To find out what type of filter use, see "Replacement
Parts."
To remove the passenger compartment filter:
- Open the hood of your vehicle. The access panel for the passenger compartment
air filter is located on the passenger side of the cowl grill, at the base of the
windshield.
- Use a flat-blade screwdriver to remove push pin fasteners
from filter access panel.
- Remove any debris in the filter area such as leaves
or pine needles.
- Depress retaining tab outward and remove filter.
- Install the new filter, noting the airflow
direction arrow on the filter and snap in place.
- Install filter access panel with push pin fastener.
