Service Information for VUE Second Design Latch Kits (03-T-09)

Subject:Service Information for VUE Second Design Latch Kits

Models:2002-2003 Interim Saturn VUE with First Design Door and Liftgate Latching Systems
Built Up To and Including VIN Breakpoint 3S825934

Attention: Fixed Operations Manager, Parts Manager, Technician

Purpose:

Due to a design change in the door and liftgate latching systems, a second design latch kit must be used to service first design 2002 and 2003 interim door and liftgate latching systems. The kits contain second design latches and rods that are designed to work as a complete latching system. If any one component listed in the kits below must be replaced for any reason, all components of the kit must be replaced in order to complete the repair. These two systems are not interchangeable. Also, when replacing a door or liftgate latch, the BCM must be reprogrammed with a new calibration. The service kits with second design latching system components will be the only parts available.

Important: The new BCM calibration will work with the first design latches. Therefore, only replacement of the affected latch is necessary.
