The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
A technician may need a radio code. He may state when trying to call for radio theft deterrent unlock codes the phone number (888) 225-2306 is inoperative.
Recommendation/Instructions:
If the model year is 1999 or older the technician should be instructed to call the automated DELCO unlock number @ 800-537-5140 or the live Delco customer assistance number is 800-428-0501. Delco will not talk to dealers unless they have a TAC case number.
If the model year is 2000 or newer and (888) 225-2306 is inoperative the technician can call (1-800-448-0944) instead. Please advise the technician when using the secondary number to have the radio numbers ready when calling this number as United Radio has agreed to furnish this number as an additional way of helping our customers in a more timely manner.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
