The body control module (BCM) monitors the rear window washer switch signal circuit. When a rear windshield wash is requested for more than 2 minutes, the BCM will turn OFF the windshield washer fluid pump motor if the rear wiper is NOT requested by the windshield wiper washer switch.
Power for the windshield washer fluid pump is supplied through the FRT WIPER 25 A fuse and windshield wiper washer switch. Grounding for the windshield washer fluid pump is through the OFF position of the windshield washer fluid pump.
This diagnostic procedure supports the following DTC:
DTC B3713 Rear Washer Motor Input Circuit High
Ignition is in RUN or ACC position.
Rear window washer switch signal circuit at battery voltage for 2 minutes.
No light will illuminate in the instrument panel (I/P).
• | A current DTC clears when the fault is no longer present. |
• | A history DTC clears when the module ignition cycle counter reaches the reset threshold, without a repeat of the fault. |
• | Inspect wiring harness for damage. |
• | Inspect for broken or chaffed insulation. |
• | If fault is suspected to be intermittent, wiggling harness wiring may help in locating fault. |
