Draining Procedure


    Object Number: 943378  Size: SH
  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
  2. Place a drain pan below the rear differential.
  3. Remove the drain plug from the front of the rear differential.
  4. Drain the fluid.

Filling Procedure


    Object Number: 935435  Size: SH
  1. Thoroughly clean the threads of the drain plug.
  2. Apply sealer to the drain plug threads. Refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers.
  3. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  4. Install the drain plug to the rear drive module.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the drain plug to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).

  6. Remove the rear drive module fill plug.
  7. Fill the rear differential with fluid. Refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers.
  8. Specification
    Fill initially with 750 ml (25.4 oz) of fluid.

  9. Inspect the fluid level. Refer to Rear Axle Lubricant Level Inspection.
  10. Thoroughly clean the threads of the fill plug.
  11. Apply sealer to the fill plug threads. Refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers
  12. Install the fill plug to the rear differential.
  13. Tighten
    Tighten the fill plug to 35 N·m (26 lb ft).

  14. Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
