SIR Light On DTC B0092 And PPS Flash Code 52 - keywords air bag code connector heated passenger PPS presence restraint seat system

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

The SIR light is on with DTC B0092 and flash code 52 set for the Passenger Presence System (PPS). The seat heater mat which is a part of the heated seat system is calibrated as a part of the inflatable restraint Passenger Presence System (PPS). If the vehicle is equipped with a front passenger seat heater, the PPS continuously monitors for faults from the heated seat element. If the PPS determines there is a fault in the heated seat element supply circuit, the PPS will set DTC 52.

Prior to replacing any parts for the Passenger Presence System (PPS) for a DTC 52, check the pin connections within the four way (female) connector from the *SEAT BACK* heating pad pigtail. This connector will have 2 Orange wires, 1 Black wire, and 1 Gray wire. Replace any terminals that are worn and/or loose. If the pin connections are good, then follow the instructions in the flow chart in SI Document ID# 1465476 for the DTC 52.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
