1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
2. Disconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connector (3) from the knock sensor pigtail electrical connector (4).
3. Remove the knock sensor electrical connector pigtail (4) clip from the oil level indicator tube bracket.



4. Remove the knock sensor bolt.
5. Remove the knock sensor.

Important: Rotate the pigtail 90 degrees from vertical before securing the fastener.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.




1. Install the knock sensor.
2. Install the knock sensor bolt.

Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).




3. Connect the engine wiring harness electrical connector (3) to the knock sensor pigtail electrical connector (4).
4. Install the knock sensor electrical connector pigtail (4) clip to the oil level indicator tube bracket.
5. Lower the vehicle.
