DTC Descriptor

DTC C1FFF: Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM) Indicated Hardware Malfunction

Circuit/System Description

The electronic control module (ECM) detects an malfunction in powertrain or the electronic brake control module (EBCM) that will effect the emission control system for the hybrid system. This DTC will set and illuminated both the MIL and ABS IP indicators.

Conditions for Running the DTC

The ignition switch is in the ON position.

Conditions for Setting the DTC

An ECM or EBCM malfunction exists that effects the hybrid driveability or antilock brake system performance.

Action Taken When the DTC Sets

One or more of the following actions may occur:

    • The Antilock Brake System (ABS)/dynamic rear proportion (DRP) are disabled.
    • The ABS/TCS/ESC indicators turn ON.
    • The MIL Warning indicator turns ON.

Conditions for Clearing the DTC

    • The condition for the DTC is no longer present and the DTC is cleared for the ECM or EBCM with a scan tool.
    • The EBCM automatically clears the history DTC when a current DTC is not detected in 100 consecutive drive cycles.

Circuit/System Verification

DTC C1FFF will set with additional DTCs as result of (ECM) or (EBCM) circuit failure.

Verify that the DTC C1FFF is set, and diagnoses any additional P codes first, and C codes second.

Repair Instructions
