Removal Procedure

Notice: Always connect or disconnect the wiring harness connector from the EBCM/EBTCM with the ignition switch in the OFF position. Failure to observe this precaution could result in damage to the EBCM/EBTCM.

  1. Remove the generator control module cover, if equipped. Refer to Generator Control Module Cover Replacement.
  2. Remove the battery tray. Refer to Battery Tray Replacement.

  3. Object Number: 927845  Size: SH
  4. Remove the transmission control module (TCM), if equipped, from the mounting bracket and position aside.

  5. Object Number: 927847  Size: SH
  6. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  7. Clean the electronic brake control module (EBCM) to brake pressure modulator valve (BPMV) area of any accumulated dirt and foreign material.
  8. Disconnect the electrical connector from the EBCM.

  9. Object Number: 943835  Size: SH
  10. Disconnect the pump motor electrical connector.
  11. Remove the 6 EBCM attaching screws.
  12. Separate the EBCM from the BPMV by carefully pulling apart.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 943835  Size: SH
  1. Clean the sealing surface of the BPMV, with denatured alcohol and a clean shop cloth.
  2. Install the EBCM to the BPMV.
  3. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  4. Install the EBCM-to-BPMV attaching screws. Tighten the bolts in a cross pattern.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 3 N·m (27 lb in).

  6. Connect the pump motor electrical connector.

  8. Connect the electrical connector to the EBCM.

  9. Object Number: 927845  Size: SH
  10. Reposition the TCM, if equipped, to the mounting bracket.
  11. Install the battery tray. Refer to Battery Tray Replacement.
  12. Install the generator control module cover, if equipped. Refer to Generator Control Module Cover Replacement.
  13. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position. DO NOT start engine.
  14. Perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle.
