The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
The Replacement 12 Volt Battery Does Not Fit. The original battery in the vehicle is a 86-6YR with a flat top. The replacement battery 86-6YR has service caps on the top of the battery. The replacement battery with the service caps will not fit.
Recommendation/Instructions:
When replacing the 12 volt battery on a VUE Hybrid, it will be necessary to order a 86-7YR replacement battery. This battery will have a flat top and is the same size as the original battery.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
