Removal Procedure
Caution: Refer to Brake Fluid Irritant Caution in the Preface section.
Notice: Refer to Brake Fluid Effects on Paint and Electrical Components Notice in the Preface section.
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
.
- Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to
Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
.
- Disconnect the brake pipe fitting (1) from the brake hose.
Cap the brake pipe fitting to prevent brake
fluid loss and contamination.
- Remove the brake hose bolt (1) securing the brake hose bracket to the wheelhouse.
- Release the wheel speed sensor harness retaining clips (1) and release the harness.
- Remove the brake hose bracket bolt (1).
- Remove the brake hose fitting bolt (1) from the brake hose and the caliper.
- Remove the brake hose (2) from the caliper.
Important: Do not reuse the brake hose fitting gaskets.
- Remove and discard the brake hose fitting gaskets (3).
- Remove the brake hose.
Installation Procedure
- Install the brake hose.
Important: Install new brake hose fitting gaskets.
- Install new brake hose fitting gaskets (3).
- Install the brake hose (2) to the caliper.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
- Install the brake hose fitting bolt (1) to the brake hose and the caliper.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 52 N·m (38 lb ft).
- Install the brake hose bracket bolt (1).
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 12 N·m (106 lb in).
- Install the wheel speed sensor harness and secure the retaining clips (1).
- Install the brake hose bolt (1) securing the brake hose bracket to the wheelhouse.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 12 N·m (106 lb in).
- Connect the brake pipe fitting (1) to the brake hose.
Tighten
Tighten the fitting to 18 N·m (13 lb ft).
- Bleed the hydraulic brake system. Refer to
Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding
.
- Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to
Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
.
- Lower the vehicle.
