The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:

Recent part reviews indicate that the majority of the Video Display Screens returned for analysis do not test as defective. In order to better understand what is causing these parts to be replaced, the Video Display Screen will be put on restriction through the PQC. Your continued cooperation in helping to improve vehicle quality is greatly appreciated.

Effective Friday, October 26, 2007, the following part numbers will be restricted:

P/N 25888804, P/N 25888805, P/N 25888806, P/N 25888808, P/N 15293772, P/N 15294214, P/N 15948134, P/N 15948135, P/N 15948136, P/N 15950838

Recommendation/Instructions:

Please complete the following questionnaire before contacting PQC at 1-866-654-7654.

Rear Seat Entertainment Video Display Screen Questionnaire

  1. Is EI07233 listed in GMVIS for this vehicle?
  2. Customer Complaint (as it reads on the RO):
  3. Has Service Bulletin 07-08-44-018 (SI Doc ID# 2006238) been reviewed?
  4. Is the DVD connector fully seated in the body harness connector?
  5. Are there any radio DTCs related to the DVD circuit malfunction?
  6. If yes, please list and proceed to check the wiring harness

  7. Verify that the system is not operating in "half play" mode, refer to Service Bulletin 07-08-44-018 (SI Doc ID# 2006238).
  8. Have there been any recent wiring repairs made to the vehicle?
  9. If yes, please describe.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
