The charge gage indicates how much charge the hybrid battery has and when EV mode is available. All needle positions occur with normal operation.

Fully charged battery: needle is pointing to the right side of the gage.

Minimally charged battery: needle is pointing straight up.

Low battery charge: needle is pointing to the left side of the gage. A low state of charge does not indicate a problem with the battery.
