Preliminary Procedures

1. Disable the supplemental inflatable restraint (SIR) system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling.
2. Remove the shift control lever knob. Refer to Transmission Control Lever Knob Replacement.
3. Remove the instrument panel lower brace bezel. Refer to Instrument Panel Lower Brace Bezel Replacement.
4. Disconnect the range selector lever cable. Refer to Range Selector Lever Cable Replacement.
5. Disconnect the shift control electrical connector.

Shift Control Nuts (Qty 4).

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

Tighten
Tighten the nuts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
