Circuit/System Description

The body control module (BCM) generates the audible warning. The BCM receives audible warning requests via serial data.

Circuit/System Testing

  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the ignition key alarm switch
  2. Ignition ON, verify the scan tool Key In Ignition Status parameter is Key Out.
  3. If not Key Out, test the key in ignition signal circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the BCM.
  4. If all circuits test normal, test or replace the ignition switch.
