Preliminary Procedures

1. Disable the SIR System. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling .
2. Remove the right and left windshield garnish moldings. Refer to Windshield Upper Garnish Molding Replacement .
3. Remove the right and left instrument panel outer trim covers. Refer to Instrument Panel Outer Trim Cover Replacement .
4. Remove the right instrument panel lower trim panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Lower Trim Panel Replacement - Right Side .

Instrument Panel Upper Trim Panel Bolt (Qty: 7)

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

Procedure

Remove 2 plastic covers in order to access the upper bolts.

Tighten
3 N·m (27 lb in)

Cluster Trim Bezel to Instrument Panel Upper Trim Panel Screw (Qty: 2)

Tighten
2 N·m (18 lb in)

Instrument Panel Inflatable Restraint Module Bolt (Qty: 4)

Tighten
9 N·m (80 lb in)

Instrument Panel Upper Trim Panel Assembly

Procedures

1. Disconnect the electrical connections.
2. When replacing the upper trim panel, transfer all necessary components.
