Preliminary Procedures

1. Remove the liftgate upper trim panel. Refer to Liftgate Trim Panel Replacement .
2. Remove the liftgate struts. Refer to Liftgate Strut Replacement .
3. Mark the location of the liftgate hinges to the liftgate with a grease pencil.

Liftgate Hinge Bolts (Qty: 4)

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

Tighten
25 N·m (18 lb ft)

Liftgate Assembly

Tip

1. Disconnect the liftgate wiring connectors.
2. Disconnect the rear washer hose.
3. Pull the liftgate wiring grommet, the connectors and the rear washer hose out of the liftgate.
4. Remove the liftgate from the vehicle with an assistant, and place the outside face down on a clean, padded surface.
5. Transfer any parts as needed.
