- Clean the front internal gear and overrun roller clutch
assembly in solvent and air dry.
- Inspect the front internal gear for the following:
• | Clutch teeth for notches or grooves that prevent the clutch disc from
sliding |
• | Ring gear teeth for excessive wear, damage, or chipped teeth |
• | Metal debris embedded in the ring gear teeth |
• | Overrun clutch roller surface for roughness or wear |
- Replace the front internal gear if any of the above conditions are found.
- Inspect the overrun roller clutch rollers for wear
or damage.
- Replace the overrun roller clutch if faulty.
