Preliminary Procedure

1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
2. Remove the fascia support bracket. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Upper Support Replacement.
3. Remove the upper radiator support. Refer to Radiator Replacement.
4. Lift and support the radiator to aid in the compressor removal.
5. Remove the air conditioning (A/C) hose assembly for the compressor. Refer to Compressor Hose Assembly Replacement.
6. Remove the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement.
7. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

Tip
Mandatory torque sequence is required upon installation. Refer to the circled bolt sequence in graphic.

Tighten
50 N·m (37 lb ft)
