Draining Procedure
Caution: Refer to Safety Glasses Caution in the Preface section.
Important: Rotate the compressor (1) while draining
to assist in polyalkylene glycol (PAG) oil removal.
- Drain and measure the PAG oil from the original compressor (1) into a
clean, graduated container (2).
- Record the amount of PAG oil drained from the removed compressor (1).
This measurement will be used during installation of the replacement compressor.
- Correctly discard the used PAG oil.
- Clean the graduated cylinder.
Important: Drain and measure as much of the PAG oil
as possible from the NEW compressor (1).
Important: Rotate the compressor (1) while draining
to assist in PAG oil removal.
- Drain the PAG oil from the NEW compressor (1) into a clean, graduated
container (2).
Balancing Procedure
Important: If the amount of PAG oil recorded from the
removed compressor is less than 60 ml (2.0 fl. oz), disregard
the recorded amount and pour a total of 60 ml (2.0 fl. oz) of
the NEW PAG oil back into the NEW compressor (1).
- Add back the same quantity of PAG oil to the NEW compressor (1) that
was recorded from the removed compressor.
- Rotate the NEW compressor (1) three times to
lubricate the internal compressor components.
