Removal Procedure

  1. Mark the location of the hood hinge with a grease pencil.
  2. Remove the hood panel. Refer to Hood Replacement .

  3. Object Number: 256017  Size: SH
  4. Remove the bolts (1) retaining the upper hood hinge (3) to the hood (2).
  5. Remove the upper hood hinge (3).
  6. Remove the bolts that retain the lower hood hinge to the fender.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 256014  Size: SH
  1. Position the lower hood hinge (2) to the fender and line up with the marks.
  2. Install the lower hood hinge (2) to the fender.
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the lower hinge bolts (1).
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 11 N·m (97 lb in).

  6. Install the upper hood hinge (3) to the hood (2).
  7. Install the bolts in order to retain the upper hinge.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 11 N·m (97 lb in).

  9. Install the hood. Refer to Hood Replacement .
  10. Remove the tape.
