1. Connect the scan tool.
2. Turn the ignition switch to RUN.
3. Go into SDL monitor mode and monitor the communication between the ABS and the instrument cluster.

Is the brake signal active?

Go to Step 2

1. Turn the ignition switch to RUN.
2. Disconnect the park brake switch.

Did the brake indicator turn off when you disconnected the switch?

Inspect CKT 1134 for a short.

Did you find and repair a condition?

System OK

Go to Step 5

Replace the park brake switch. Refer to Park Brake Switch Replacement.

Did you complete the repair?

Replace the instrument cluster. Refer to IP Cluster Replacement.
