Rear Energy Absorber Replacement Oldsmobile

1. Remove the rear bumper fascia. Refer to Rear Bumper Fascia Replacement .



2. Use a 4.8 mm (3/16 in) drill bit in order to drill out and remove the rivets (1).
3. Remove the energy absorber (2) from the impact bar (3).

Tools Required

1. Install the energy absorber (2) to the impact bar (3).
2. Use the J 39312 and the J 39357 in order to install the 4.8-mm (3/16-in) pop rivets (1).
3. Install the rear fascia. Refer to Rear Bumper Fascia Replacement .

Rear Energy Absorber Replacement Pontiac and Buick

1. Remove the rear bumper fascia. Refer to Rear Bumper Fascia Replacement .



2. Remove the push-in retainers (1).
3. Remove the energy absorber (2) from the impact bar (3).

1. Install the energy absorber (2) to the impact bar (3).
2. Install the push-in retainers (1).
3. Install the rear fascia. Refer to Rear Bumper Fascia Replacement .
