Removal Procedure
  1. Remove the rear seat back. Refer to Rear Seat Back Replacement in Seats.
  2. Remove the rear seat cushion. Refer to Rear Seat Cushion Replacement in Seats.
  3. Remove the left side carpet retainer. Refer to Carpet Retainer Replacement in Interior Trim.
  4. Remove the release handle and the cover assembly from the floor pan.
  5. Remove the fuel tank filler pocket. Refer to Fuel Tank Filler Pipe Housing Replacement .

    6. Object Number: 384640 Size: SH
  6. Remove the door latch (3) from the fuel filler opening reinforcement.
  7. Remove the rear compartment trim panels.
  8. Remove the remote cable grommet (1) on the fuel filler door from the wheelhouse.

    9. Object Number: 384924 Size: SH
  9. Remove the remote cable on the fuel filler door from the retainers (1).

    10. Object Number: 384641 Size: SH
  10. Remove the remote cable (1) on the fuel filler door from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 384641 Size: SH
  1. Install the remote cable (1) to the fuel filler door to the vehicle.

    2. Object Number: 384924 Size: SH
  2. Install the remote cable on the fuel filler door to the retainers (1).

    3. Object Number: 384640 Size: SH
  3. Lubricate the cable grommet and install the remote cable grommet (1) on the fuel filler door to the wheelhouse.
  4. Install the rear component trim panels.
  5. Install the door latch (3) to the fuel filler opening reinforcement.
  6. Install the fuel tank filler pocket. Refer to Fuel Tank Filler Pipe Housing Replacement .
  7. Install the remote cable on the fuel filler door to the inside release handle assembly.
  8. Install the release handle and the cover to the floor pan.

    9. Important: Test the operation of the fuel tank filler door before you replace the carpet.

  9. Replace the carpet retainer. Refer to Carpet Retainer Replacement in Interior Trim.
  10. Install the rear seat back. Refer to Rear Seat Back Replacement in Seats.
  11. Install the rear seat cushion. Refer to Rear Seat Cushion Replacement in Seats.
