Removal Procedure
  1. Remove the left carpet retainer. Refer to Carpet Retainer Replacement in Interior Trim.

    2. Object Number: 384512 Size: MH
  2. Remove the cable (1) from the following components:
    3. • The fuel filler door
    • The lock release handle assembly in the rear compartment
  3. Remove the rear seat cushion. Refer to Rear Seat Cushion Replacement in Seats.
  4. Remove the rear seatback. Refer to Rear Seat Back Replacement in Seats.
  5. Remove the left rear compartment carpet. Refer to Floor Panel Carpet Replacement in Interior Trim.

  6. Remove the lock release cable clips (1).
  7. Remove the cable assembly from the rear compartment lock. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Lock Cylinder Replacement .

    8. Object Number: 384488 Size: SH
  8. Drill out the rivets (1) from the remote key cylinder (2) cable using a 3.175 mm (1/8 in) drill bit.

    9. Object Number: 384472 Size: SH
  9. Remove the lock release cable from the clips (2) on the inner deck lid panel.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 384512 Size: MH
  1. Install the lock release cable (1) to the rear compartment lock assembly.

    2. Object Number: 384472 Size: SH
  2. Install the lock release cable (2) to the clips (1) on the inner deck lid panel.
  3. Route the lock release cable through the passenger compartment. Do not kink the cable.
  4. Install the left rear compartment carpet. Refer to Floor Panel Carpet Replacement in Interior Trim.
  5. Install the rear seatback. Refer to Rear Seat Back Replacement in Seats.
  6. Install the rear seat cushion. Refer to Rear Seat Cushion Replacement in Seats.
  7. Install the left carpet retainer. Refer to Carpet Retainer Replacement in Interior Trim.
  8. Install the lock release cable to the following components:
    9. • The fuel filler door
    • The lock release handle assembly in the rear compartment

  9. Install the remote key cylinder to the inner deck lid with 3.175 mm (1/8 in) rivets (1).
