Test the CLAMP W PBSL Fuse for an open.

Is the CLAMP W PBSL Fuse opened?

--

Go to Step 4

  1. Remove the CLAMP W PBSL Fuse.
  2. Insert the ignition key into the ignition switch.
  3. Use the DMM in order to measure the voltage between the input of the CLAMP W PBSL Fuse and a known good ground.

Is the measured voltage within the specified value?

B+

Go to Step 5

Go to Step 6

  1. Locate a short to ground in the key-in positive voltage circuit.
  2. Repair the short to ground in the key-in positive voltage circuit.

Is the repair or replacement complete?

Go to Step 9

  1. Disconnect the gauge cluster connector.
  2. Open the left front side door.
  3. Use the DMM to measure the resistance between terminal 16 of the gauge cluster connector and a known good ground.

Is the measured resistance less the specified value?

2 ohms

Go to Step 7

  1. Locate an open or a high resistance in circuit A19.
  2. Repair the open or the high resistance in circuit A19.
  3. If this circuit is OK, replace the ignition switch. Refer to Ignition Switch Replacement - On Vehicle in Steering Wheel and Column On Vehicle Service.

Is the replacement complete?

Go to Step 9

  1. Locate an open or a high resistance in the key-in positive voltage circuit.
  2. Repair the open or the high resistance in the key-in positive voltage circuit.
  3. If these circuits are OK, replace the gauge cluster. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement .

Is the repair or replacement complete?

  1. Locate an open or a high resistance in circuit RM900.
  2. Repair the open or the high resistance in circuit RM900.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 9

  1. Connect all connectors and components that were disconnected.
  2. Test the key-in-ignition warning.

Does the key-in-ignition warning operate properly?

--

System OK
