Removal Procedure
  1. Remove the instrument panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Assembly Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.

    2. Object Number: 304996 Size: MH
  2. Remove the side window defogger adapters (1, 2).
  3. Remove the duct mounting screws.
  4. Remove the duct (3).

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 304996 Size: MH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  1. Secure the duct assembly (3) using the mounting screws.

    2. Tighten
    Tighten the duct assembly retaining screws to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  2. Install the side window defogger adapters (1, 2).
  3. Install the instrument panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Assembly Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
