Was the Wiper/Washer Diagnostic System Check performed?

  1. Turn the ignition to RUN.
  2. Set the wiper switch to LO.

Do the wipers stop for approximately 6 seconds and then operate for approximately 24 seconds repeatedly?

--

Go to Step 3

Replace the wiper motor cover. Refer to Wiper Motor Cover Replacement .

Is the replacement complete?

Go to Wiper/Washer System Check

  1. Set the wiper switch to OFF.
  2. Disconnect connector C202 from the wiper/washer switch connector.

Do the wipers park properly?

--

Go to Step 5

Go to Step 6

Replace the wiper/washer switch. Refer to Windshield Wiper and Washer Switch Replacement .

Is the replacement complete?

--

Go to Wiper/Washer System Check

Measure the voltage from connector C202 (vehicle side) terminal A5 to ground.

Is the measured voltage greater than the specified value?

1.0 V

Go to Step 7

Go to Step 10

  1. Reconnect connector C202 to the wiper/washer switch connector.
  2. Disconnect the harness connector from the wiper motor assembly.
  3. Measure the voltage from wiper motor connector (harness side) terminal G to ground.

Is the measured voltage within the specified range?

10.5-15 V

Go to Step 8

Repair the short to battery condition in CKT 478.

Is the repair complete?

Replace the wiper motor assembly. Refer to Windshield Wiper Motor Replacement .

Is the replacement complete?

Measure the voltage from connector C202 (vehicle side) terminal D3 to ground.

Is the measured voltage greater than the specified value?

1.0 V

Go to Step 12

Go to Step 11

Replace the wiper motor assembly. Refer to Windshield Wiper Motor Replacement .

Is the replacement complete?

Go to Wiper/Washer System Check

  1. Reconnect connector C202 to the wiper/washer switch connector.
  2. Disconnect the harness connector from the wiper motor assembly.
  3. Measure the voltage from the wiper motor connector (harness side) terminal H to ground.

Is the measured voltage greater than the specified value?

1.0 V

Go to Step 14
