Removal Procedure
Notice: Use care when removing and installing the headliner. If reusing the headliner lay the headliner down flat on a clean surface. Excessive bending will
damage the headliner.
- Lower the headliner. Refer to
Headlining Trim Panel Replacement
in Interior Trim.
- Cycle the glass panel to the rear.
- Disconnect the electrical harness.
- Cut the tie wraps from
the drain hoses.
- Remove the drain hoses from the sunroof module.
- Remove the sunroof module
to the roof fasteners.
- Remove the sunroof module.
Installation Procedure
- Position the sunroof module
into the roof opening.
- Hand start the sunroof module fasteners into the roof.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Place a 12 mm
pin into the sunroof module alignment holes (2).
Tighten
Tighten the sunroof module to roof fasteners to 9 N·m (80 lb in).
- Remove the alignment pins.
- Connect the drain hoses
to the sunroof module.
- Secure the drain hoses to the sunroof module with new tie wraps.
- Connect the electrical harness to the sunroof module.
- Adjust the sunroof glass panel. Refer to
Sunroof Window Height and Opening Fit Adjustment
.
- Verify proper operation of the sunroof.
- Install the headliner. Refer to
Headlining Trim Panel Replacement
.
