  1. Disconnect the adaptive lumbar module connector.
  2. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  3. From the vehicle side of the connector, measure the voltage from the IGN 3 circuit of the adaptive lumbar module connector to a good ground.

Does the voltage measure within the specified range?

9-16 V

Measure the voltage from the battery positive voltage (B+) circuit of the adaptive lumbar module connector to a good ground.

  2. Disconnect the lumbar switch connector.
  3. Measure the voltage from the battery positive voltage (B+) circuit of the lumbar switch connector to a good ground.

  1. Reconnect the lumbar switch connector.
  2. With the adaptive lumbar module connector connected, measure the voltage from each of the lumbar switch input circuits of the adaptive lumbar module connector to a good ground.

Does the voltage from any of the circuits measure greater than the specified value?

0 V

With the adaptive lumbar module connector connected, measure the voltage from the auto input circuit of the module connector while operating the lumbar switch in the AUTO/ON direction.

Does the voltage measure within the specified range?

6-10 V

With the adaptive lumbar module connector connected, measure the voltage from the off input circuit of the adaptive lumbar module connector while operating the lumbar switch in the OFF direction.

Does the voltage measure within the specified range?

6-10 V

With the adaptive lumbar module connector connected, measure the voltage from the lumbar back input circuit of the adaptive lumbar module connector while operating the lumbar switch in the BACK direction.

Does the voltage measure within the specified range?

With the adaptive lumbar module connector connected, measure the voltage from the lumbar forward input circuit of the adaptive lumbar module connector while operating the lumbar switch in the FORWARD direction.

Does the voltage measure within the specified range?

  1. Disconnect the lumbar switch connector.
  2. Connect a 3 amp fused jumper wire between the battery positive voltage (B+) circuit of the lumbar switch connector and the auto/on circuit of the lumbar switch connector.
  3. Measure the voltage from the auto input circuit of the adaptive lumbar module connector.

Does the voltage measure within the specified range?

6-10 V

  1. Disconnect the lumbar switch connector.
  2. Connect a 3 amp fused jumper wire between the battery positive voltage (B+) circuit of the lumbar switch connector and the off circuit of the lumbar switch connector.
  3. Measure the voltage from the off input circuit of the adaptive lumbar module harness connector.

Does the voltage measure within the specified range?

6-10 V

  1. Disconnect the lumbar switch connector.
  2. Connect a 3 amp fused jumper wire between the battery positive voltage (B+) circuit of the lumbar switch connector and the back circuit of the lumbar switch connector.
  3. Measure the voltage from the lumbar back input circuit of the adaptive lumbar module harness connector.

Does the voltage measure within the specified range?

6-10 V

  1. Disconnect the lumbar switch harness connector.
  2. Connect a 3 amp fused jumper wire between the battery positive voltage (B+) circuit of the lumbar switch connector and the forward circuit of the lumbar switch connector.
  3. Measure the voltage from the lumbar forward input circuit of the adaptive lumbar module harness connector.

Does the voltage measure within the specified range?

6-10 V

Test the appropriate lumbar switch circuit between the adaptive lumbar module and the lumbar switch for a short to ground, a high resistance, or an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
