Symptoms w/o A45

Important: Review the system operation in order to familiarize yourself with the system functions. Refer to:

   •  Power Seat Systems Description
   •  Power Seats Circuit Description
   •  Power Lumbar Circuit Description
   •  Heated Seats Description
   •  Heated Seats Circuit Description

Visual/Physical Inspection

    • Inspect for aftermarket devices which could affect the operation of the power seat. Refer to Checking Aftermarket Accessories in Wiring Systems.
    • Inspect the easily accessible or visible system components for obvious damage or conditions which could cause the symptom.

Intermittent

Faulty electrical connections or wiring may be the cause of intermittent conditions. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems.

Symptom List

Refer to a symptom diagnostic procedure from the following list in order to diagnose the symptom:

    •  Heated Seat Inoperative
    •  Heated Seat Always On
    •  Heated Seat Inoperative - Rear
    •  Heated Seat Always On - Rear
    •  Heated Seat Switch High Indicator Malfunction
    •  Rear Seat Heater Switch High Indicator Malfunction
    •  Heated Seat Switch Low Indicator Malfunction
    •  Rear Seat Heater Switch Low Indicator Malfunction
    •  Power Seat Inoperative
    •  Power Seat Does Not Move Forward/Rearward
    •  Power Seat Does Not Tilt Forward
    •  Power Seat Does Not Tilt Rearward
    •  Power Seat Does Not Recline
    •  Power Seat - Head Restraint Does Not Move Up or Down
    •  Lumbar Support Inoperative
    •  Lumbar Support Does Not Move In or Out
    •  Lumbar Support Does Not Move Up or Down

Symptoms with A45

Important: 

   • Perform the Diagnostic System Check - Power Seat Systems before using the Symptom Tables in order to verify that all of the following are true:
      - There are no DTCs set.
      - The control module(s) can communicate via the serial data link.
   • Review the circuit description in order to familiarize yourself with the system functions. Refer to:
      -  Memory Seat Description
      -  Memory Seat Circuit Description
      -  Power Lumbar Circuit Description
